The OW150 daybed by Ole Wanscher is one of the designer's many designs that have become classic collector's items due to their timeless beauty and high-quality materials.
The design balances comfort, relaxation and appealing looks. The reason for this is a simple look that has not lost its meaning since its creation in 1949. A single long cushion rests on a solid oak frame, its gentle shape making it seem almost weightless. Hand-sewn buttons create a high-quality and exclusive impression that the lounger lives up to in every way.
Designer Ole Wanschers
An important functionary of Danish design, designer Ole Wanschers is known and loved for his modern classics. Born in 1903, he studied under Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later worked in the latter's design studio before striking out on his own. Wanscher traveled to Egypt and Europe and found inspiration in a wide variety of visual expressions, which also shaped his unique design aesthetic. He created his best-known designs in the late 1940s and early 1960s as the "design for all" philosophy emerged in the postwar era. This resulted in functional and affordable furniture for the Danish population, which is still very popular today.
Material and format
