Designer Alberto Meda
Alberto Meda was born in Italy in 1945. He studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic in Milan and was technical director at the well-known Italian manufacturer Kartell from 1972-1979. Afterwards he worked as a freelance designer for various companies, such as Alias, Alessi and Vitra. In the meantime, he also works as a lecturer and gives lectures.
Alberto Meda has been working with Vitra since 1994. With his elegant office chair and table designs, he has made a significant contribution to the of Vitra's successful Office Collection.
Material and format
The flexible frame of the Physix Studio swivel chair is made of polyamide, has practical armrests and can be configured in a variety of colours . For the one-piece seat and backrest, you have the choice between the knitted cover TrioKnit (4% elastane, 96% polyester) and the fabric cover FleeceNet (53% polyester, 46% polyamide, 1% elastane).
The frame and seat shell are mounted on a five-star frame made of die-cast aluminium with castors, available in a polished or powder-coated version in deep black or soft grey. The seat height can be infinitely adjusted as required via a gas spring.
