Sculptural: Pion stool by Sancal
Inspired by a chess game, Ionna Vautrin designed the Pion collection for Sancal. King and queen are represented by dining and conference tables, towers, knights and bishops are conceived as side tables and the figure of the pawn is found in the stool.
Whether meeting room, restaurant or your own living room - the design furniture of the Pion series can be used flexibly. The seat of the stool is made of sturdy, tanned leather.
Ionna Vautrin - the designer
After graduating from the Nantes Design School, Ionna Vautrin worked with various renowned companies, such as the design studio Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. In 2011 she was awarded the main prize for her design of a work commissioned by the City of Paris. Through her collaboration with Foscarini, Sancal also became aware of the French designer.
