Pure variety: Piton portable battery lamp by Muuto
Inspired by the archetypal torch as well as the tools used in mountaineering, the Piton Portable Lamp inspires with its playful design, elegant simplicity and a large portion of functionality.
Equipped with LED light source and diffuser, Piton emits both direct and indirect light and thus becomes a versatile ambient light. The steel counterweight in the handle also allows you to place the lamp in different positions - lying, standing, tilting or hanging. This makes Piton a luminous all-rounder for indoors and outdoors!
Designer Tom Chung
Tom Chung is an independent industrial designer who founded his eponymous studio in Toronto in 2016. Here, Chung focuses on industrial objects and interiors, combining contemporary culture and local industry.
"My idea for Piton came from a desire to create a rechargeable, portable lamp that works in multiple ways and environments. I wanted the design to meet the requirements of a torch, providing safety and warmth."
