Description
Strong contrast: PK63A coffee table by Fritz Hansen
In 1968, Poul Kjærholm began designing a series of tables that could be combined with his various lounge chairs and sofas. PK63A was designed to be used specifically with the PK31 2 and 3 seater sofa, but also goes wonderfully with other seating furniture from the PK collection. The angular, expressive side table is a true design gem. Here, steel is combined with natural materials, which makes for a great contrast. In addition, the beautiful feel of granite, slate and marble is inspiring. With the PK63A, you can embellish living and lounge areas in equal measure. The PK22 chair or the Fri armchair by Fritz Hansen - also available in our shop - go wonderfully with the coffee table. Or set the scene for several tables with different formats by combining the coffee table with its colleagues PK62 and PK63!Scandinavian craftsmanship: Poul Kjærholm
Poul Kjærholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a special interest in various building materials, especially steel, which he regarded with the same artistic delicacy as other natural materials.Poul Kjærholm was employed by Fritz Hansen for about a year, where he created a number of remarkable designs. In 1955, he began his collaboration with the manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until Kjærholm's death in 1980. In 1982, Fritz Hansen took over the production and distribution of "The Kjærholm Collection", which was developed from 1951 to 1967 - designs that are logical down to the smallest detail and have an aura of exclusivity. In 2007, Fritz Hansen added two new pieces to the Kjærholm Collection that had never been in production before: the PK8 chair and the PK58 dining table.Material and format
The tabletop of PK63A is available in three different variations: slate, white marble (rolled) and granite. The base is made of satin-brushed, stainless steel. The coffee table measures W 60 x L 120 x H 31 cm.Note: Marble is a natural product. Therefore, the table tops are all unique and have their own distinctive pattern. - Dimensions / Infos
