Supernormal: Plate Dining Table by Vitra
The designer Jasper Morrison follows the design approach that objects work best when they not only look aesthetically pleasing and valuable, but also fulfil exactly the purpose for which they were designed. For this reason, he calls his design style "supernormal".
The Plate Dining Table convinces with a restrained expression, which is created by the successful interplay of surfaces and curves. Balanced proportions make the dining table look contemporary and timeless at the same time. In terms of style, it is thus absolutely flexible: it can be combined with classic or modern chairs.
Following the principle of material efficiency - as much as necessary, as little as possible - the dining table resists unnecessary flourishes and thus displays an elegant and filigree silhouette.
Material and format
The Plate Dining Table is 180 cm wide, 90 cm deep and 73.5 cm high. It is available in various sizes and versions. The table top is available in solid wood, glass, marble or MDF:
- Table topsMDF: 25 mm thick, powder-coated
- Table topssolid wood: 22 mm thick, oiled in natural oak, smoked oak or American walnut
- Table topglass: 12 mm thick, float glass with satinised surface, lacquered underside, ground edge
- Marble table top: 15 mm thick, Carrara marble, brushed and waxed
