This means that the backrest area functions in exactly the same way as the upper or lower area of your spine.

Only such a flexible backrest provides sufficient support for your back. When you change your sitting position, the upper and lower parts of your spine move independently of each other. If the upper or lower part bends backwards, the other part is automatically tilted forwards.
