The design
Philippe Nigro is a French designer in professional limbo between France and Italy. Experimental research, a pragmatic feel for his clients' know-how and the influence of French-Italian culture are just some of the factors that shape his work
With Portable Atelier, Nigro wanted to create a collection that is entirely in the spirit of the "nomadic spirit" and is used in different places and for different purposes. Thus, the desk is also complemented by a stool that, thanks to its simple look, can be used not only at the desk but in any space.
The look
A hinged top made of birch plywood with oak wood panelling rests on a slender, matt black lacquered steel frame with details made of oak wood. This gives the designer piece by Philippe Nigro a light and unobtrusive appearance. The dimensions are also anything but expansive. With a 110 x 60 cm work surface and a height of 75 cm, the Portable Atelier desk fits into a wide variety of places - whether in the office or in a niche in the living room or bedroom.
