Natural beauty: the Poul Poul table lamp by Ingo Maurer. Poul Poul looks as if it came directly from the tropics, where it spent its previous life as an insect or exotic flower. The design of this highly unusual table lamp is a joint production and comes from Dagmar Mombach and Ingo Maurer alike.

Precious paper

The Poul Poul designer lamps are as noble as they look: The paper is elaborately handmade in a special, patented process. Up to eight different work steps are necessary until the paper looks as it should. The process is based on a traditional Japanese textile dyeing technique.

Since the paper used is an untreated natural product, no two table lamps are the same. Smaller inclusions and thickenings are due to production technology. Besides paper, Poul Poul also uses metal, stainless steel, silicone and glass. The height is an immense 70 cm.

Care

Paper and water do not get along, that is not much different with the Poul Poul table lamp. This is basically the most important care tip we can give you. Rooms with high humidity, such as bathrooms or kitchens, should be avoided. It goes without saying that you should not wipe the Ingo Maurer lamp with a damp cloth.

You should also avoid a place where the beautiful design lamp is exposed to extreme sunlight and strong draughts. Use a feather duster or brush for cleaning. You can clean the metal parts and the glass cylinder with a dry cloth. That wasn't so bad after all!
