Unique piece: Quilton Sofa Lounge from Hay

Quilton combines the visual understanding and industrial precision of designer couple Doshi Levien. The aim of the sofa was to create a central platform for living, relaxing and socialising. Expansive dimensions and sculptural shapes characterise the look of the sofa. 

Modular

The Quilton series from Hay not only offers prefabricated combinations, but is actually based on a multifunctional system of sofa elements, which the designers themselves call a "quilted landscape sofa system". The wide range of different modules allows users to create customised seating options with a unique look.

Technology and culture combined

The London-based design studio Doshi Levien was founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. The Indian-Scottish duo met while studying at the Royal College of Art. Since then, they have worked together to create designs that are both technically advanced and culturally resonant. Whether furniture, fashion or homeware, each of them brings a special skill set to their projects: Doshi is primarily concerned with visual culture, an aesthetic understanding of the world and the materiality of things, while Levien focuses more on industrial precision and technology. in 2008, the designer duo was honoured with the Future Legends of Design Award. In addition to the Quilton sofa, the Uchiwa lounge chair was also created for Hay.

Hay - contemporary furniture from Denmark

Founded in 2002, the Danish manufacturer Hay pursues the goal of creating furniture that meets the needs of modern life and is accessible to the widest possible audience. The company likes to reinterpret Danish furniture classics from the 50s and 60s. Inspired by the stable structures of architecture and the dynamic twists and turns of fashion, Hay combines the values of both industries and creates durable and timeless quality products that combine functionality and elegance.
