Hibernation: Resting Bird by Vitra
Even if birds don't hibernate, the two ceramic figures from Front look as if they have fallen into a pleasant, deep hibernation. For a long time, the Swedish design studio has dealt with the subject of sleep and especially the hibernation of animals.
Relaxed design
The Resting Birds radiate a feeling of deep tranquillity, which is transferred to the owner when viewed. The simple design stands in clear contrast to the two different colours: strong yellow and dark blue.
The Resting Animals project is based on the investigation of human emotions in connection with figurative objects. Randomly selected people were asked about the most emotionally enriching object in their lives. The answers were clear: many of the respondents referred to animals with whom they shared a common history or specific attributes.
Material and size
The Resting Birds are made of ceramic and are available in two colours. The surface of the figure is glazed.
