Refined: Stuttgart chair by e15
Geometric shapes, rational aesthetics and flowing transitions. Designed in 1926, the Stuttgart chair is a prime example of Richard Herre's refined furniture design. With its strong character, curved backrest made of solid wood, Stuttgart combines traditional craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
In the Stuttgart chair, delicate Viennese wickerwork is surrounded by a throne-like silhouette. The chair embodies the charm of the 1920s and at the same time impresses with a modern look. Thus, it can be wonderfully used in a variety of dining or meeting areas.
Richard Herre Collection
With the Richard Herre collection, e15 continues its examination of designs by protagonists of modernism. The Stuttgart architect, interior designer, graphic artist, author and translator Richard Herre has only recently been rediscovered as an important representative of the New Objectivity of the 1920s. He not only designed textiles for interiors, but also expressive furniture and lighting.
Herre's furniture and textile designs are characterised by reduced, often cubic forms that are accentuated by a well thought-out, strong colour scheme. His designs thus fit into e15's versatile collection, which is nevertheless clearly committed to the values of modernity. With the re-editions of the Stuttgart chair and the Zet kilim, an almost forgotten, multi-layered chapter of modernism can be experienced again.
e15 - quality and innovation
Named after the postcode of its first studio in London, e15 was founded in 1995. In the production of its collections, the company pays attention to environmental compatibility as well as high-quality materials and works together with specialised European handicraft businesses as well as renowned designers. This is how progressive designs were created that convince with quality and innovation.
Material and format
Stuttgart is 53 cm wide, 50 cm deep and 75 cm high. The seat height is 45 cm. The chair is available in waxed oak or waxed walnut. The seat is made of Viennese wickerwork.
