Egon Eiermann has always wanted to create seating furniture that meets the human need for comfort. So he also designed the S 197 R20 office chair with a seat and backrest that fully meets ergonomic requirements.
The S 197 R20 swivel chair designed in 1949 was followed by many other designs of this kind by other designers - but only the S 197 R20 was able to hold its own on the market for years.
Comfort, reduced to the essentials - that is the secret of success of Egon Eiermann and consequently of the S 197 R20 swivel chair.
The S 197 R20 office chair is particularly popular among artists and freethinkers. This is due on the one hand to its ergonomic sitting comfort and on the other hand to its wooden finish, which makes the swivel chair particularly comfortable and also suitable for the home office.
