Elegant chair for indoor use: Santa Lucia rattan chair from Richard Lampert

The Santa Lucia rattan chair by Richard Lampert was designed by Herbert Hirche back in 1969 and is a beautiful and elegant classic. The seat and the curved back form a single unit and are made of natural rattan, while the frame is made of black tubular steel. These designer chairs are not only an eye-catcher on the balcony, terrace or in the dining room, the comfortable and stackable Santa Lucia chairs also create warm and bright accents in a restaurant or café. Matching cushions are also available.

Important designer of the 60s: Herbert Hirche

Looking at the design work of Herbert Hirche, it is hard to believe that some of these modern pieces of furniture were designed many decades ago. The bar trolley, for example, dates back to 1956! After an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin, where Hirche learnt under Mies van der Rohe and Wassily Kandinsky from 1930 to 1933, Hirche worked as a freelance architect and designer. Hirche is one of the most important architects and designers of the 1950s and 1960s. Richard Lampert is contributing to the immortality of designers such as Herbert Hirche by reissuing these classics. On the occasion of Herbert Hirche's 100th birthday in 2010, several pieces of furniture, including these rattan chairs, were brought back to life.

Richard Lampert: Design made in Germany

In 1993, Richard Lampert founded his company in Stuttgart with the aim of industrially producing furniture and everyday objects that combine quality craftsmanship, design and sustainability. Richard Lampert's collections cover a wide range of areas from outdoor furniture to living spaces and offices. Well-known designers such as Egon Eiermann and Herbert Hirche stand alongside unconventional and lesser-known international designers.
