Designer Vico Magistretti

Vico Magistretti was part of the renowned Milanese architect family Magistretti and worked all his life according to the principle that there are no excuses for bad design. He is considered one of the founding fathers of Italian design and is known for his experimental and convincingly harmonious designs. Magistretti worked at theintersection of architecture, industrial design and urban planning.To escape military deportation, he fled to Switzerland during the Second World War. There he met the famous architect Ernesto Nathan Rogers, who influenced him throughout his career. Many of his designs can be seen today in galleries and museums around the world.
