One thing is certain - the Shadowy Chaiselongue will be an absolute eye-catcher in every garden and on every terrace. The eccentric design by Tord Boontje is reminiscent of a scorpion and looks extremely exotic. The chaise longue is equipped with a curved headboard that provides sufficient shade. For even more comfort, it also has an armrest that you can order online - optionally attached to the left or right side.

Art director Patrizia Moroso's aim with M' Afrique is to capture the exotic cheerfulness of the African continent. Senegal is also home to the small factory founded specifically for this purpose, where each design is skilfully made by hand. The polyethylene mesh is based on the weaving technique of African fishing nets and is as unique as it is robust. The steel frame, which Moroso has weatherproofed, contributes significantly to the stability. 

Tord Boontje for Moroso 

Born in the Netherlands, Tord Boontje studied at the Academy of Design in Eindhoven and continued his studies at the Royal College of Art in London. Today, in his studio in Shoreditch, Tord Boontje designs, creates and propagates collections that are characterised by a creative and independent working method. With his modern designs, Boontje aims to create strong emotions in the customer. In doing so, he likes to focus on romance, extravagance and even a little irony.

The focus is on unique, unusual design, environmentally friendly production and the use of natural, recyclable materials wherever possible. Material and format 

Like all pieces of furniture in the M' Afrique collection, the Shadowy chaise longue was designed for outdoor use. Its frame consists of robust, weatherproof lacquered steel, whereas the back and seat are made of polyethylene threads. As each chaise longue is made by hand, each piece is unique and there may be variations in the colour and weave pattern. 

The chaise longue is 87 cm wide, 150 cm long and 160 cm high. The seat height is 41 cm and you can choose from four exciting colour variations. 

Note: The M'Afrique collection by Moroso is traditionally produced by hand in Senegal, so deviations and minor defects are not grounds for complaint. These are intentional and are part of the handcrafted and artisanal character of the piece of furniture. Due to the production process in Senegal, the furniture is not always directly available in all variations and colours, as you are used to from European companies.
