The Shitake stool by Moroso is inspired by nature
The name says it all: Marcel Wanders used the Shitake mushroom, whose name means "elf bank" in Dutch, as the model for his design. The unusual stool is made of polyethylene which is coloured by a rotary spraying process and it looks as if it is covered with embroidery. The inside of the design seating furniture is hollow and closed with a plug so that the stool can be filled with water, sand or the like at will, thus giving it more stability.

Material and size
The base of the Shitake stool is 28 cm wide and it has a height of 43 cm. The seat measures 52 cm in width and 37 cm in depth. The model is resistant to light and water.
