Inclined position: Slant table lamp by Hay
Slant is the result of a joint project by Hay and BRANCH - a design team consisting of the Japanese Tsunao Nagasaki as well as graduates and students of the Tama Art University, where Nagasaki used to teach.
Inspired by the power of shapes, the Slant table lamp exudes a bold graphic aesthetic that instantly captures any space it illuminates. The basis of the design is a simple, bevelled cylinder topped by a circular lampshade. A cast-iron weight creates stability in the base and ensures that the angle of inclination remains perfectly balanced. All technical components are hidden inside so as not to break the luminaire's clear silhouette.
Slant's sculptural design and functionally oriented light make the luminaire the ideal lighting object for a variety of living and office spaces. Choose from three elegant colours that can be integrated into almost any interior style.
A multidisciplinary approach to design
Behind BRANCH is a creative unit of lecturers, graduates and students from the Department of Integrated Design at Tama Art University in Japan. In their projects, BRANCH explores the relationship between the environment, people and objects from a multidisciplinary perspective. Thus, BRANCH's innovative design solutions find inspiration in areas such as art, space, graphics and science.
Hay - timeless design from Denmark
Founded in 2002, the Danish manufacturer Hay pursues the goal of creating furniture, lamps and home accessories that meet the needs of modern life and are accessible to the widest possible audience. In doing so, they like to reinterpret Danish furniture classics of the 50s and 60s.
Inspired by the stable structures of architecture and the dynamic turns of fashion, Hay combines the values of both industries and creates durable and timeless quality products that combine functionality and elegance.
