The generous design armchair has a particularly light appearance thanks to the transparent knitted cover and the elegantly shaped legs. The fabric used is particularly resilient and is simply stretched over the construction. This type of upholstery enables a pleasantly soft and ergonomic sitting position.
Design duo Bouroullec
The brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec come from France and studied at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Cergy Pontoise. Since 1999, both have worked as equal partners in a design studio in Paris. From small objects of daily use to large architectural projects - the Bouroullecs' field of activity is diverse. The collaboration with Vitra began in 200, and alongside Jasper Morrison, Hella Jongerius and Antonio Citterio, the designs of the two are an essential part of the constantly growing Vitra Home Collection.
Material and size
The design armchair Slow Chair by Vitra consists of a tubular steel frame with a form-knitted and extremely resilient fabric stretched over it. The upholstery is made of polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The base is made of polished or coated cast aluminium.
The armchair is 95 cm wide, 89 cm high and 65.5 cm deep. The seat height is 33 cm. The ottoman is made of the same materials as the armchair and is 69.5 cm wide, 52.5 cm deep and 31 cm high.
