Supernormal

Designed by Jasper Morrison for Vitra, this harmoniously shaped three-seater is inspired by a sofa-type that has become a modern classic: a sofa which is close to the ground and compact.

„Supernormal“ – that is the design philosophy of Jasper Morrison, which he also followed with the Soft Modular sofa. The idea behind this designation is to design simple and yet striking pieces of furniture which have a high degree of functionality and comfort.

This is also true of the comfortable Soft Modular sofa - Vitra has put greater emphasis on the processing and upholstery.

Construction

The Soft Modular sofa offers maximum seating comfort - and that's no coincidence. If you look at the design - you can read it in the Factbook under "Downloads" on page 7 - it becomes clear how well thought-out the frame and upholstery are coordinated.

A wooden frame with integrated steel springs serves as a basis. The upholstery is made of polyurethane foam, which has been chosen in two perfectly matched densities. So you can enjoy great seating comfort and do not sink in too much - simply outstanding. Allergy and animal protectionists can also breathe freely: no animal feathers were used for the upholstery

Two or three seater?

The name of the Soft Modular Sofa is no coincidence: The legs are equipped with a plug-in mechanism that allows you to remove the middle part and connect the two side elements together. This turns the three-seater into a two-seater in no time A three-seater is too wide anyway? You can also order the Soft Modular Sofa in our online shop as two-seater.

Variations

You can further personalize the Soft Modular Sofa by Vitra: Corner and chaise longue elements are available, for which we will gladly make an offer on request. The product data sheet under "Downloads" provides a first overview. For other fabric covers, please contact us.

Laser: 100% polyester, uncomplicated, easy care and very abrasion resistant - also suitable for use in the public areas
Volo: 85% new wool / 15% polyamide, elegant, pleasant feel - more suitable for private homes
All fabric covers for the Soft Modular sofa are removable!
