Under the seat shell construction of the Softshell Chair, vertically arranged slats are concealed in the back shell, which adapt precisely to the user and allow him freedom of movement. The soft shape of the upholstery nestles perfectly and creates a homely character.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
The Bouroullec design duo consists of the brothers Ronan and Erwan, who were born in Quimper, France. Since 1999, the two have been running their design studio as equal partners in the Belleville Quarter in Paris. From small objects of daily use to large architectural projects - their field of activity is extremely varied.
Material and size
The seat and back shell of the chair are made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide and the corresponding upholstery is made of polyurethane foam. There are two seams in the fabric on the side of the back. The five-star base is made of powder-coated aluminium in basic dark or polished.
