Targa Lounge Armchair Viennese GTV Design

With Targa Lounge, Gamfratesi - the designer duo consisting of Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi - has designed a lounge chair for Wiener GTV Design that is convincing both in terms of design and comfort.

Italian-Danish design

While Stine Gam comes from Denmark, Enrico Fratesi's roots lie in Italy. This exciting cultural conglomerate is also reflected in the design language. The results are unmistakable designs that are just right for individualists.

In Targa Lounge, expressive solid wood elements, loosened up by inserts of Viennese wickerwork, are juxtaposed with generous upholstered areas.

Where does Targa get its name? At the back of the backrest there is an oval solid wood element which, like the frame, is made of beech bentwood. Targa means shield or plaque in German.

Bentwood tradition

AlthoughTarga Lounge is a new design from 2015, it still follows a time-honoured tradition. Viennese GTV Design - also known as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna - is famous for its furniture made of solid wood bent under steam. So on the one hand, the manufacturer remains true to its roots and on the other hand, it is still open to new, fresh designs such as Targa Lounge by Gamfratesi.
