Inspired by the beauty of nature: Uzu rug W 200 x L 300 cm from Blomus
When designing the Uzu rug series, Kazushige Miyake was inspired by the so-called "Karesansui", the dry landscape gardens of Kyoto. The patterns raked into the gravel there are reminiscent of the swirling currents of a river and reflect the natural beauty and serenity of nature. The randomly combined lines and circles symbolise the randomness of nature. Brought into our living spaces, the patterns create a particularly delicate, harmonious atmosphere. The Japanese designer chose viscose as the material because it combines the positive properties of cotton and silk and is soft, skin-friendly and particularly hard-wearing.

The German company Blomus, based in Sundern in North Rhine-Westphalia, was founded in 1961 and is primarily known for its tasteful home accessories. Authenticity is just as important to the family business as quality craftsmanship. As a result, each product has an unmistakable design signature. Even though very different materials are used, it is primarily stainless steel that has significantly characterised the appearance of the brand to this day. As an elegant and simple material, the hard metal is closely linked to the Blomus success story.
Material and format
The Uzu rug is made from 100% Ökotex-certified viscose, which guarantees a sustainable production chain and therefore a responsible use of resources. It is 200 cm wide, 300 cm long and 1.2 cm high.
Care instructions: The rug should be vacuumed or beaten out regularly. Soiling should be removed with a damp cloth in the direction of the fibres.
