The 1960s were a special time: Woodstock, Winnetou, Bob Dylan, civil rights movements - there are many things that remind us of this time. In the world of design, shell chairs were a big trend and so the Yara chair by Jan Kurtz is a tribute to the Swinging Sixites.

The airy, light arrangement of the rattan tubes in combination with the powder-coated wire frame creates a graceful design. With its comfortable seat height of 44 cm, the Yara chair is suitable both for sitting comfortably at the table and as a reading chair.

Designer Luit van der Helm has been associated with the furniture industry since childhood, growing up in Noordwolde, a Dutch village known for its rattan production. Quality, service and eye-catching designs are the main focus for the Dutchman.

Jan Kurtz - German purism

Jan Kurtz founded his label in Affalterbach, Germany, in the mid-1990s. After initially designing primarily outdoor furniture, Jan Kurtz expanded his range to include design furniture and accessories for the indoor sector. Company founder and boss Jan Kurtz wants to develop designs that integrate functionally and aesthetically into the living environment of their owners.

Material and size

The seat shell of the Yara chair is made of natural rattan. The frame is black, powder-coated steel tube. The chair is 62 cm wide, 59 cm deep and 85 cm high.
