Flexible: Gargantua outdoor picnic table by Extremis
Probably the best-known design by Dirk Wyants - the Gargantua adjustable picnic table. Extremely functional, the four benches can be adjusted in height as required. The practical thing about it: in the highest position, the seats form an extension of the tabletop, so that the table can seat up to 12 people instead of 8. This means that the table can also be accessed by wheelchair users.
For sun protection in summer, there is an opening in the middle of the table with a diameter of 65 mm, into which the Inumbra or Inumbrina parasol can be inserted with a perfect fit. The parasol can be purchased in the set or separately
Material and format
The Gargantua table is made of tropical Iroko hardwood as well as stainless steel. The frame, the legs and the optional backrest are made of galvanised steel.
The table top measures 146 cm in diameter and is at a height of 75 cm. The picnic table measures a total diameter of approx. 230 cm in its lower state. In its highest position, it measures approx. 200 cm in diameter. The benches can each be adjusted to heights of 45, 52, 60 and 75 cm and are therefore suitable for small and large children as well as adults. The weight is 151 kg.
Optional backrests in sets of 2 or 4 and seat cushions can also be purchased. For a firm anchorage to the ground, a set for ground anchorage must also be purchased. It is also possible to purchase a bench fastening to keep the bench firmly at the same height
