Arne Jacobsen is the designer of the Grand Prix chair.
The 4-leg chair was introduced in 1957 at a exhibition of the Danish craftsmanship in Copenhagen. In the same year the Fritz Hansen chair was displayed at the Milano Triennale and was awarded with the highest price of the Fair - the Grand Prix. From this time on it was named Grand Prix chair.
The Arne Jacobsen chair is produced nowadays with chrome frame, the versatile chair is ideal for canteens, conference rooms, offices and home.
The light and stackable chair is available in many glaze colours (wooden structure is visible) and wooden types.
The Grand Prix chair by Fritz Hansen can be ordered in three heights.
Fame: 95 % wool , 5 % polyamide
Hallingdal: 70 % pure wool, 30 % viscose
Divina / Divina Melange: 100 % pure wool
Christianshavn: 85 % wools of New Sealand, 15 % polyamide
Fjord: 92% new wool (combed), 8% nylon
Steelcut Trio: 90% new wool (combed), 10% nylon
