Description
Exceptionally comfortable: Lily armchair 3208 by Fritz Hansen
Arne Jacobsen originally designed the Lily chair for the Danish National Bank back in 1968, and the model with the armrests followed two years later in the course of the Danish Furniture Fair. The special thing about the chair is its texture, because it consists of layers of sliced veneer that are moulded in a highly complicated process . This is how the perfect curves and the extraordinary comfort of the Lilie chair are created.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, Fritz Hansen decided to reissue the chair in its original version made of walnut veneer.
Designer Arne Jacobsen
Already in 1934, Arne Jacobsen worked together with Fritz Hansen. But it was not until 1952 that he made his breakthrough with "the ant", which was followed by the well-known and popular Series 7 in 1955. Arne Jacobsen was extremely productive both as a designer and as an architect. He designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen at the end of the 1950s and developed the Egg, the Swan and the Series 3300 for this project.
