In love with detail: VLA26 Vega Chair by Carl Hansen & Søn

In 1956, the famous Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) designed the Vega chair with great attention to detail for the interior of Copenhagen's Vega concert hall. Now it is finally being produced for a wider audience by Carl Hansen & Søn in collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, who will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2022.

Vega scores visually with its timelessly simple design, slender curves made of high-quality oak and an elegant mix of materials. The optional, perfectly fitted upholstery ensures optimum seating comfort. The stackable and versatile design chair is impressive all along the line!

Carl Hansen & Søn - Danish design since 1908

What began in 1908 as a small furniture workshop on the Danish island of Funen has developed into a successful and globally recognised design company. Since the carpenter Carl Hansen founded the company, two aspects have taken centre stage: an uncompromising commitment to the finest craftsmanship and collaboration with exceptional designers.

The development of Carl Hansen & Søn was significantly influenced by the well-known Danish designer Hans J. Wegner. The creative connection with him began in 1949 when Carl Hansen's son met Wegner and enabled the then still unknown designer to design an extensive furniture series. One part of the collection conceived at that time is the now world-famous Wishbone Chair, also known as CH24.

Material and format

The frame of the Vega chair is made of black powder-coated steel. The seat and backrest are made of FSC®-certified oak veneer, while the legs are made of solid oak.

You can choose from clear lacquer, oil, white oil, smoke-coloured oil and black, whereby the structure of the oak wood remains visible.

The design chair is 56 cm wide, 53.3 cm deep and 80.5 cm high. The seat height is 45 cm.
